In order to pay tribute to the profound Chinese culinary culture and promote the Chinese food culture of "drinking virtues and enjoying food, bringing joy to all nations", The Fisherman's Terrace MGM Hotel Group, along with its three hotels - Shanghai Suning Bellagio Hotel, Chengdu Fisherman's Terrace Boutique Hotel, and Sanya MGM Holiday Resort, joined hands with MGM Macau Hotel to successfully launch the first "Taste & Star Chef" food event from November 19 to 27, 2020 at the aforementioned four hotels.

The inaugural "Taste & Star Chef" event combined the finest cuisines from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Sanya, and Macau. With the chefs' captivating storytelling and the presentation by the service staff during the meal, it created a unique Oriental charm for guests to enjoy while witnessing the opening show. A magnificent feast of "Chinese-style" cuisine begins!

The creation of the new "Star Chef Menu" brings together the efforts of the chef teams from each hotel, especially the five invited celebrity chefs who carefully select ingredients and cook with passion, offering guests an unforgettable culinary cultural experience.

Giulioantonio Di Sabato, the Italian chef at Lago Restaurant in Shanghai Suning Bellagio Hotel, has a special fondness for Chinese cuisine. He combines Chinese and Western ingredients with cooking techniques to create innovative dishes. This time, he presented Italian mature vine tomato clear soup, classic Chianti-braised beef ribs, and the dessert "Bombe Alaska cake".


Mao Yi, the Executive Chinese Chef at Chengdu Fisherman's Terrace Boutique Hotel, not only carries on the tradition of Sichuan cuisine but also incorporates the quality and presentation of Fisherman's Terrace cuisine into his dishes. He presented the dish "Liaoning ginseng sautéed with Sichuan peppercorns". The tender and juicy Liaoning ginseng, combined with the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns, creates a wonderful harmony on the taste buds. In addition, he brought Chengdu's most representative snacks: Dan Dan noodles, yellow pea cakes, and brown sugar glutinous rice cakes.

Zhou Jianxin, the Deputy Executive Chef at Sanya MGM Holiday Resort, has received guests from the Asian Turtle Forum seven times and served more than ten heads of state. He pays attention to culinary details and the selection of local ingredients. This time, he brought traditional Hainan dishes: Thousand-year-old salt-baked chicken and stewed bird's nest with kumquat and pineapple.

Macau has a fusion of Eastern and Western cuisines, which has created a dazzling array of Macanese cuisine. Chef Xu Weihao, the Head Chef of Chinese and Western Cuisine at MGM Macau's Imperial Court, presented a dish called "Truffle-crusted crab shell with crab meat". Chef Xu has incorporated his creativity into this classic dish, using a Western-style creamy sauce for seasoning. Each bite is full of the fresh sweetness of crab meat, while the fragrant truffle enhances the complexity of the flavors.

The first "Taste & Star Chef" event was launched at Shanghai Suning Bellagio Hotel, Chengdu Fisherman's Terrace Boutique Hotel, and Sanya MGM Holiday Resort. The five celebrity chefs came together at the same time to showcase their exquisite culinary skills. This unique "Taste & Star Chef" menu is only available in the Chinese restaurants of these four hotels for a limited period of 30 days.
