MGM joins forces with Xiaomeisha Investment to create a world-class urban coastal leisure destination.

On November 6, 2019, Beijing - MGM Fisherman's Wharf Hotel Group (hereinafter referred to as "MGM Fisherman's Wharf") signed a hotel management agreement with Shenzhen Special Investment Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xiaomeisha Investment"). The Shenzhen MGM Hotel will settle in Xiaomeisha, injecting fresh vitality into this "ocean within the city" with its inherent entertainment genes and strong resource integration capabilities, and jointly create a world-class urban coastal leisure destination. The signing ceremony was held on November 4 at the Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, attended by Vice District Governor Zhou Min of Yantian District, Shenzhen, Mr. Zhang Junlin, Chairman of Shenzhen Special Investment Group, Mr. Gui Ziqiang, Vice President, Mr. Jim Murren, Chairman and CEO of MGM International Hotel Group, Mr. Bill Hornbuckle, President and COO, leaders from Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, and executives and guests from Xiaomeisha Investment and MGM Fisherman's Wharf witnessed the signing.

Known as the "Oriental Hawaii," Xiaomeisha is about a 30-minute drive from the center of Shenzhen and has a two-hour transportation radiation effect on the major developed cities in the Pearl River Delta. As an important part of the Eastern Tourism Golden Triangle in Shenzhen, Xiaomeisha undertakes the role of a city coastal leisure and lifestyle destination with an ecological theme and a blue shoreline. Shenzhen's state-owned large comprehensive enterprise group "Special Investment Group" has invested 15 billion yuan to create the "Xiaomeisha Tourism and Leisure Platform," aiming to build it into an international and world-class urban coastal tourist resort that integrates tourism, residence, and business. The Shenzhen MGM Hotel is located in the resort landmark area, adjacent to the newly built Oceanarium, only a few steps away from the azure coastline. The hotel is designed by Sato Comprehensive Planning, a first-class architectural firm in Japan, and the conceptual design is undertaken by the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum New Building Design Unit. The hotel has a total construction area of 45,000 square meters and plans to have no fewer than 300 rooms, various restaurants and lounges, multiple multi-purpose halls and meeting rooms, fitness centers, pools, and other entertainment and leisure facilities.


The Shenzhen MGM Hotel is expected to be completed and opened before 2024.
