DUFU COTTAGE
DISTANCE:5.4KM
Located on the banks of the Huanhua Stream outside the west gate of Chengdu, Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of the great Tang Dynasty realist poet, Du Fu, during his stay in Chengdu. In the winter of 759 AD, Du Fu fled to Chengdu with his family to escape the "An Shi Rebellion" and built a thatched cottage to live in, which he named "Chengdu Thatched Cottage." Du Fu lived here for nearly four years and created over 240 poems, which have been passed down to this day. The Thatched Cottage is considered a "sacred place" in the history of Chinese literature.
