Mar.27, 2017, Beijing -The 17th Golden Horse Awards of China Hotel &Global Forum of China Hotel were held successfully in Guangzhou recently. Invited to attend the forum, Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality took the prize for The Hotel Group with the Best Prospects. Kevin Lee, the Vice President of Design & Construction and Brand Strategy, has been named as The New Leading Hotelier of Chinain recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the business.


This marks the 5th time in a row that Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality and hotels under its management are on the Medal Podium of Golden Horse Awards of China Hotel. The honor of The Hotel Group with the Best Prospects is a recognition of Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality for its unremitting efforts in the past decade. It now boasts four brands, namely, MGM, Diaoyutai, Bellagio and MHub, catching the eye of many hotel investors and developers. With a number of projects signed in metropolitan cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Sanya, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Haikou, Nanjing and Qingdao in China, and Bali and Frankfurt in the rest of the world, the company’s achievements speak for themselves. Fred Zhou, Senior Vice President of MGM Resorts International & Chief Representative in China, shared his views on how to achieve a win-win result between hotel investors and management companies. “The management company needs to continuously improve itsmanagement system. There is sometimes a problem of poor communication between the General Manager and the Owner. The interface between the Owner’s Representative and the Deputy General Manager needs to be improved. The Owner and General Manager must sometimes take the responsibility for cultivatingsuch changes. The management company should fully delegate authority to the General Manager. At the same time a rigorous back office system should be set up to reduce the scope for poor results arising from human factors. In any case, the interests of the management party and the investor are closely aligned. The management party must innovate rapidly to adapt to market requirements”.


Kevin Lee, the winner of The New Leading Hotelier of China, is now the Vice President of Design & Construction and Brand Strategy of the group. Mr. Lee boasts two decades’ experience in the high-end hotel industry. Since joining the company, he has led the team providing technical services to a dozen hotel projects. Under his leadership, each brand has undergone major development. In particular, the Diaoyutai Hotel brand has been well established and recognized in both the hospitality industry and the market.
